Refund & Cancellation Policy

We believe in fair, transparent business. If something isn't working out, we want to make it right. Here's exactly how refunds and cancellations work at Smith Web Co.

Website Design Projects

Before Work Begins

If you cancel before any design or development work has started, you'll receive a full refund of your deposit within 7 business days.

During the Project

If you cancel after work has begun:

  • Initial deposit — non-refundable, as it covers the time already invested in your project
  • Completed work — you will receive all completed designs and files up to the point of cancellation
  • Unpaid balance — you will only be billed for work completed, not the full project cost

After Project Completion

Once the website has been approved and launched, the design and development fee is non-refundable. We encourage clients to use all included revision rounds during the project to ensure satisfaction before launch.

Monthly Hosting & Maintenance

Cancellation

You may cancel your monthly hosting and maintenance plan at any time with 30 days written notice. To cancel, email us at hello@smithwebco.com.

Refunds

  • Monthly fees are non-refundable for the current billing period
  • Your website will remain active through the end of your current billing cycle
  • After cancellation, we will provide you with a copy of your website files upon request

What Happens to Your Site

When you cancel hosting:

  • Your site stays live until the end of the paid period
  • We'll export your website files so you can host them elsewhere
  • Your domain remains yours — we never hold domains hostage
  • We'll assist with any transition to another hosting provider

Satisfaction Guarantee

We stand behind our work. If you're not happy with the direction of a project during the design phase, we'll work with you to make it right within the scope of the agreed-upon revisions. Our goal is to deliver a website you're proud of.

Disputes

If there's a billing dispute or you feel a refund is warranted outside of these guidelines, reach out to us directly. We handle every situation individually and will always try to find a fair resolution.
